On July 3rd, 2008, Meagan Tubb & Shady People got to open up for Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, David Allen Coe & Freddy Powers to name a few out at "Willie's Place" in Carl's Corner. We played on an outside stage at 10 am and then inside on Willie's stage at noon. Here are some photos from the day...

Meagan Tubb & Shady People played in front of a huge crowd at the Granada Theatre in Dallas, Texas on March 7th, 2008 while opening up for Monte Montgomery.

We played at the Austin Freedom Fest and everything was great. I wasn't able to meet Willie as he was in his tour bus the entire time that he wasn't on stage.
I did get to meet Jackie "Jokeman" Martling and got my picture taken with him.
I also took a bunch of pictures of the whole event on my cell phone. You can see them here.

High Times online magazine wrote up a review of the entire show. They commented on each individual band and had the following to say about us:

I got the good fortune to play the Eureka Springs Blues Festival again with the Derral Gleason band.

Meagan Tubb & Shady People are going to be on METV this Sunday night 5/27/07 for the first episode of the "Emerging Artists Series".
They filmed us at Antone's back in February. They are showing us at 7pm and 11pm.

Meagan Tubb & Shady People got to open up for Billy Joe Shaver out at Poodie's Hilltop Bar & Grill.
I went to go get my picture taken with Billy Joe Shaver and was extra lucky to find Ray Wylie Hubbard hanging out as well.

I've been fortunate to record in Willie
Nelson's studio over the last few days. I was in there with Meagan
Tubb recording our new album entitled "Beautiful Noise". It's
being engineered by Steve Chadie.
While we were in the studio, I took a bunch of photos with my cell phone. You

I got to meet Pamela Des Barres during some down time between two of my gigs at SXSW in the ever so wonderful city of Austin, Texas. She and her ex-husband Michael Des Barres were reading excerpts from her book "I'm With The Band" at the Whisky Bar. After the reading, her current love interest Mike Stinson got on stage and sang a song he had written for her. She stood in front of the stage and motioned at the rest of us in the crowd to move closer & enjoy the intimate musical moment between her and her beau. She swaggered and swayed to the music not but a few feet away from me. It was another one of those many moments where I was kicking myself in the butt for not learning how to dance. Oh well, at least I got to get my photo taken with her and she signed my book. Very cool!
If you're not familiar with Miss Pamela she is a famous rock & roll "groupie" from the 60's & 70's having dated the likes of Jimmy Page, Keith Moon, Noel Redding, Mick Jagger & Jim Morrison to name a few. Here is a link for more info… http://www.pameladesbarres.com/

Meagan Tubb has won the finals in the "Super Summer Talent Search" contest at Poodie's Hiltop Bar & Grill.
We have won:
- 20 hours of studio time in Willie Nelson's studio
- A slot to play at Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic in 2007
- 2 opening slots for national touring acts that come to town
